When I happened to read an acronym for Courage with “A” being the word ACKNOWLEDGE, my thoughts started a whirlwind.
How often do acknowledge what we do well?
Possibly we are restrained from this acknowledgement because we may think others may think we are boasting? Or maybe our focus is on what we don’t do well?
How often do acknowledge the efforts of others?
From thanking those who comment on this blog to those who support us in our daily real estate work efforts? Then what about handwritten notes to current clients, affiliates and past clients?
Did you know that acknowledge is one of those words from the Middle English (late 15th century) and was originally the verb for knowledge. I didn’t know that this word was ever a verb.
Being a fan of the very early philosophers and poets, Euripides shared the depth of this word acknowledge.
“The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man.”
Napoleon Hill shared this thoughts about the affect of this word.
"There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge."
Then there is this impact from acknowledge offered by Ferdinand Foch
“A battle won is a battle which we will not acknowledge to be lost.”
Imagine how much further we would progress through such a simple act of taking the time to acknowledge ourselves, our own efforts and of course others?
