Sunday in April for Rambling

Happy Sunday to you all!

Wishing Denver was "in the path of totality", but then again, don't want the city to be flooded with people either.   So, maybe it is OK.   Will see it on the news.

The wind has been ferocious over the last couple of days.    We have had wind gusts over 90 miles an hour.   Right now, there are 88,000 homes with no power, as our utility company has turned it off to ensure they don't start a fire.   We are SO dry, and this wind doesn't help anything.   We have seen a few fires over the last couple of days, but luckily, nothing huge.   Hopefully, the power will be on later today for those without.   (mine never went off)

Went on a hike to Castlewood Canyon Friday when the weather wasn't too windy, and saw 74 degrees!   Perfect day for a good walk.    There was still snow on the ground from the huge snowstorm we had 3 weeks ago.    This canyon really is beautiful in the summer, right now, it isn't as green, but still a great day!

Hello Joan - the palm fronds continued to fall this week in SoCal as gusts visited us along with some precipitation.  We are not in the path either - I shall look for the meaning of totality in other ways plus a glimpse of what I see around me.

Denver is not noted for those type of winds is it?  I am surprised.  While it did not make a lot of people happy I am sure, an ounce of prevention by the electric company excellent forthought.  m

A power outage is never a good thing. Fires are even worse and with no power, no water to put out a fire.

Joan, Gosh that is a lot of power outages due to the winds.  All types of weather can create havoc for many.  Yes your point is well taken about too many visitors.  Hope your weather is leveled out now.

Hello, Joan Cox Even though Northwest San Antonio was in the path of totality, with all the clouds above, we didn't get to see a nice eclipse. But, it did get dark here. It'll be another 20 plus years before another one is in the US.
