Friday Fun…What Says Spring to You??

Patricia Kennedy wrote a post Picco’s Walk in which she talked about seeing the Cherry Trees but the Redbud trees signaled SPRING to her.

For many, it may be the tulips and daffodils beginning to poke their heads through the soil.

                                                               Azaleas

Some see robins in their area and that signals Spring

For me, it’s the appearance of our Texas Bluebonnets and the azaleas!  When these make their appearance, I know it’s time to put the heavy jackets away, break out my flip-flops, and get more allergy medicine!

What about you?

What signals SPRING for you???

Spring in northwest Montana starts slowly especially in terms of flowers. What signals Spring to me is the bird chatter, the sunshine and the green. All of a sudden the birds start chattering like crazy (sometimes it sounds like a tropical jungle), the sun blasts through the windows all day (we get a lot of cloudy days int he winter) and the grass/trees start greening. It's starting!

Kat Palmiotti don't you love waking up to the birds singing!!!  I will sit and listen for as long as they're singing.

The first sign of Spring for me are when birds start chirping in the early mornings.   Also, baseball and when things bloom.   I love Spring, I love the change of seasons here in NJ.

Hello Kathy - sensory signs seem to be all around me anytime of the year.  I see changes and hear them too.  Aromas - new to me and familiar greet me.   Occasionally touching them and certainly tasting them as seasonal favorites make their return. And it seems that the sixth sense, however it may be defined, makes an extra special appearance in one way or another.  I am fortunate to be aware.  Or at least - aware in process.

My azaleas bloom and right after that my gardenia tree.  Those signal spring to me.  By then all of our trees are bright green and lively.

Joyce Marsh the azaleas are in bloom here. We used to have little gardenia pushes. My friends suggested we pour pickle juice on them.

Brian England it was like that in South FL too. Here in Houston, we do have seasonal changes but not as cold as up North.

Kathy for me it is the first time I have to take out the lawnmower.

George Souto That's funny. Larry hardly has to mow in the winter. He primarily does it to get rid of the leaves. But with warmer weather here...the grass is growing by leaps and bounds.

Hi Kathy:

It used to be certain flowers when we lived in New England, but the flowering season here in SoCal are different, and the are some flowers pretty much all year. I guess what I really notice is a lot more bird activity and sounds as the birds start courting and nesting.

Jeff Dowler, CRS I'm thinking of the Flower Field that you share with us each Spring. I've seen mockingbirds and cardinals going in and out of our bushes. I know there are nests in there but I don't want to scare them.
