Friday Flags: Jarjura's, A Waterbury CT Year-Round Farmers Market
The flag for this week was easy to spot as the wind was blustery. It stood outside a Waterbury CT Landmark at the edge of the parking lot of Jarjura's Farm Market.
Established in 1917, this market has been selling wholesale and retail fresh fruits and vegetables all over the State of CT, and in 1993 opened its retail outlet.
To this day it is a family run operation, and they stock the retail side with produce regularly and often items not found in some of the larger stores in the area.
The market is just off the downtown area and astride the highway that traverses through the town.
My wife shops here regularly and I will get our garden plants here when the time comes in May.
