Evergreen in Flagstaff - Conversation with Jacki Tait

This blog is about Jacki Tait, CLHMS, a wonderful ActiveRain blogger and real estate agent, living and working in Flagstaff AZ.

Last year Jacki wrote a memorable blog post, "What to Love about Flagstaff AZ".

When you click on the link, you will immediately know why it is memorable - sincere, friendly writing, well-researched content and videos. Evergreen content.

For people like me, living in the Phoenix metro area, Flagstaff Arizona is an attractive getaway destination in all seasons. It allows for a spontaneous day trip. 

I remembered Jacki's post when I decided to go cross-country skiing at my favorite Nordic Center this April. I was getting frustrated why I cannot find anywhere cross-country ski rentals and finally decided to call Jacki. She picked up the phone right away; she knew whom to contact, a local ski instructor, and with his insight we figured out the answer. End of March-April 2024 was an unusually snowy time and the ski trails had still a lot of snow, however by this time of year the cross-country rentals season is planned to be closed, and the rental equipment is waxed and stored away. The best option were the show-shoes, which I had never tried before.

Thanks to Jackie's post and the connection with her, we decided to go to the Nordic Center and I had this new experience - snowshoeing. Everybody is so friendly and welcoming there, we were so thrilled that we went.

I don't have a photo of Jacki to post here, as we have never met with Jacki in person,  I hope we will one of these day. However, she is  the name that comes to mind when I think of Flagstaff AZ.

We connected twice by phone this month, the second time about our ActiveRain challenge. She said she loves ActiveRain, too. Just became very busy with other work. She may come back and write more. I noticed on her blog signature that Jacki Tait, CLHMS  is the Mentorship Manager at her company, a Success Coach and a Co-lead Agent for a Team.  When we read her blogs, we can feel her love for Flagstaff, and her enthusiasm! Jacki Tait, CLHMS  says: "Everyone has a place in Arizona, I help you find yours!"

I was going to write about my connection with Jacki and this very ActiveRain experience anyway, now my blog comes very handy as an entry for Debe Maxwell, CRS and Brad Andersohn reconnection challenge. I am so glad they came up with this idea of connecting with other ActiveRain bloggers!

Hmm, it looks like I follow Jacki Tait, CLHMS in the Rain, but I don't think we have interacted much at all.  I didn't realize you skied, but seeing the photo of you, it looks like you are a natural.  I enjoy going up to Flagstaff during the summer months!

Hi Dorte Engel , yes I had great time, among the pines. I would have loved a bit more speed, but enjoyed the shade from the pines and the sun seen above them. We'll have to write another post about the meeting with Jacki. I hope you will visit Arizona again.

Steffy Hristova - if you are asking about cross-country skiing, our area is so big (in terms of miles/etc) that villages are not close to each other. Our cross-country ski locations might have 20+ miles of trails but they're all in the same town. For example, the Forest Service grooms these trails but they aren't in towns. Did that answer the question?

Oh, Steffy Hristova - What a wonderful reconnection with an old friend who was so resourceful and helpful too! I'll be sure to visit her blog and say hello. That's a great photo of you on snowshoes. I used to cross-country ski many years ago, but never again since moving to TX. I did go to Flagstaff and camped there one summer in late 1980's or early 1990's. It was beautiful then. Of course, there was no snow. But I remember how lovey it was and the daily visits from the Blue Jays! 

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful! Coming from the Midwest, I loved being in the woods after it snowed. Now I'm a bit homesick for that experience once again. I hope you stay in touch with Jacki Tait, CLHMS - she sounds like a good friend and you are too!
