The other day I came across this quote by Bayard Taylor.
“Opportunity is rare, and
a wise man will never let it go by him.”
My sense is the reason opportunity is rare because wisdom is also rare.
Year ago I read this quote by Marcel Proust:
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but having new eyes.”
Maybe this is why during economic downturns, there are more wealthy people created because they have changed their perspective, their eyes?
And usually from what I read these individuals who became wealthy worked, had goals and learned how to overcome obstacles in their paths.
With all the angst within the real estate industry, my sense is some will see the same landscape but with new eyes. From everything I continue to read, the real estate industry is facing what other industries have faced, significant change. Those individuals who saw with opportunity with new eyes did not let that opportunity slip by.
“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.”
Thomas Edison
“Luck is when opportunity knocks, and you answer. If opportunity doesn’t know, build a door.”
Milton Berle
“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.”
Henry Ford
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
Winston Churchill
