Friday Flags in Cheshire CT

The flag today comes from a plot of ground in front of a colonial structure that was once a thriving business.

Now called the Ball & Socket arts building, it offers attractions and areas to exhibit for local artists. In its heyday, it was a stamping plant that made all manner of buttons, some of which adorned the military uniforms during the Civil War.

Back in the late 1980's the company was bought by Waterbury Companies and their museum was merged with that plants.

A factory with a proud heritage and once the source of work for so many now has a different audience, but the flag still waves proudly.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400  There are a lot of businesses that have the flag flying in the area, it's a matter of being there when the wind is active. Thanks for stopping.

Good morning Ed. In these troubled times it is nice to see your flag series and know there are some who still respect the flag and love the freedoms America offers. Too many others who hate this place should be deported to where they say they love. Enjoy your day.

Call a Marana neighbor, I'm THERE!

I love little factoids and snippets of history.  In Tucson, I swear the car dealerships have the largest flags.  I can't even imagine folding one.  It must take multiple people like they do at the sporting events.  We had company from London once and they were surprised to see so many flags flying in America.
