Clarity in communication?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Marte Cliff Copywriting

I will admit to being an unsophisticated old country girl. So perhaps that is theI'm puzzled. reason why this question I found on LinkedIn has me baffled.

What the heck are they saying here? Can someone explain it? Or answer it?

What do you do if your innovative contributions on your resume need quantifiable impact?

Michael Elliott and Kathy Streib - that would be my opinion of them too, if it was an individual. But this question came from LinkedIn.

Of course, I don't know where they get their questions. Could be that members supply them.

Well Marte,

You have me stumped! I have no idea what LinkedIn is asking!! Anyone else have any answers? Kathy Streib seemed to have a good one.

So "innovative contributions" on a resume sounds like they are adding made-up accomplishments. And "need quantifiable impact" means the made up accomplishments need some sort of measurement statistic to sound realistic.  Was the person who wrote that the owner of a consulting firm? Maybe they sell fake data for resume use.

Other than that, I have no idea!!!

Kat Palmiotti I have no idea either, but I like your suggestions.

My guess would be what Kat Palmiotti said. Quantifiable requires a measurement of some kind. Statistics, data, etc.

Carol Williams "Quantify" has long been one of my least favorite words. It sounds pompous.

Well, I'm not an unsophisticated country girl, Marte. I'm a reasonably sophisticated city girl who speaks several languages... but like you, I have no clue what this means (in any language!).

PS neither of us is old!

Nina Hollander, Broker I'm thinking that someone felt that they sounded wise and academic when they wrote it.

I wouldn't want to answer that for them either, just speak plain English and give it to me straight and let me decide, haha.

Brian England - Plain English? I suppose next you'll want truth.

You assume your resume will go to the bottom of the pile with no possibility of your being hired.

Patricia Kennedy - that might be a reasonable assumption.

Marte Cliff - ever since Microsoft bought LinkedIn, I haven't been interested in using it.

I wonder if it was an AI question? It doesn't make sense to me.

Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP Is THAT what happened. Guess I wasn't paying attention, because I didn't know it.

I think the more things are consolidated, the more quality goes downhill. We need competition to keep people sharp - whether it's with services or with improving the quality of grocery store items.

I shouldn't say improving. I should say maintaining, since so many products - groceries and otherwise - are declining in quality.

I guess it could have been an AI question. Guess we'll never know.
