GOD GETS THE GLORY

Sometimes life is coming at you from every direction, sickness, finances, work, etc.  You know what I mean.  Can't seem to get ahead no matter how hard you try.  Well back in February, Valentines Day to be exact, my husband started having chest pains; he thought he was having a heart attack.  He went to the hospital; they kept him overnight and ran some test.  He was then released and sent home with an appointment to have a stress test 2 weeks later.  I didn't understand why they were sending him home.  The pain was still there.  We ended up going back to the ER that weekend.  They did a heart cath and said it's not his heart.  We were very thankful for that but still had no idea what was causing the pain and of course they sent him home again. For at least 3 or 4 months my husband suffered with this pain.  Going back and forth to doctors, in and out of the ER and of course numerous tests that weren't fun at all.  He couldn't go to church and for those that know him, he doesn't miss church (my husband is a preacher, though he's not currently pastoring) unless he's sick or maybe for an occsional vacation.  He tried to work but the pain was too severe and the meds the doctor prescribed made it where he couldn't work.

The company my husband worked for decided to let him go at the beginning of April.  Apparently it did not matter that he was a hard and good worker, or that he was the top salesman in his group last year.  A new boss that didn't even know my husband made the call.  I don't think his direct boss wanted to do it.  At any rate he no longer had a job and along with his job went our insurance.  However, we still had plenty of bills including the new medical bills we had incurred and my husband was still sick.  I was working a part time job during the tax season and still working Real Estate but we all know about the market right now.

We had been asking our church, family, friends, co-workers, pretty much everybody to pray for him and us throughout this whole ordeal.  At some point rather than praying that the doctors figure out what was wrong with him, many started praying that God would just touch him.  And that is exactly what happened.

Some time in May, not sure when exactly, I asked my husband how he was feeling.  He said he wasn't hurting.  It was amazing.  Everyday I would ask and everyday he would say I am still not hurting.  He was able to go back to church and he started looking for a job.  He found a job selling health and life insurance and that's what he's doing now and he loves it.  There is so much more potential in his new profession and he is very happy to be doing it.

God answered our prayers; he touched my husband and made him better, gave him a better job and showed us once again he is in control.  I must say through out this whole situation our church and family were absolutely wonderful.  The prayers and support were tremendous and words could never explain.  I knew before what a wonderful church and family that we had but this was just a reminder.  But the biggest reminder of all was what a wonderful God we serve.  He is there no matter the problem; he will provide and be there right on time.  So God gets the Glory for this situation and for everything in our life.  We are not perfect and our faith wavers at times because we are human but God has not once let us down.  The things we go thru down here, good and bad God knows exactly what we need and he should get the glory from our lives.  We are so blessed!

Thank you so much for sharing this testimony of the goodness of God. I know within in my heart that no matter how things look to me God has a plan and He is getting the glory in my life like He has the glory in your life, Beth. I am encouraged and wont give up on God for I know He has not given up on me. To God be the glory! Shalom><}}}*>Evelyn L. Threadgill
