Hello John - I don't recall being aware of Thomasville North Carolina.  It doesn't surprise me that it is known as Furniture City or that there is an oversized chair on display. 

In your post, you highlight other points of interest that were unknown to me but underscore your local knowledge which is important for those requiring representation.
