ActiveRain's Reconnection Challenge for April
The personality of ActiveRain just 'Ain't what it Used to be', and for those that have been around for a while, it is missed. New members will see references to Raincamps and Meet-ups and have very little idea of the emotions in can conjure up for a lot of us.
It is essentially those feelings that are felt by those that sit in on a Zoom call.
Like Raincamps, Zoom calls carry discussions on a range of topics. and the underlying tone is a lot of friends again gathering, and even from afar, enjoying the closeness.
Over the calls this month, many familiar faces have attended, and some are back into their blogging mojo.
I reached out to ActiveRain hostess extraordinaire, Dagny Eason . She has been among the missing the past year but her reasons are well deserved.
When she first joined ActiveRain, she was an agent in the largest, family run brokerage in New England, and less than happy. With the support and encouragement of her husband Kirk, she started a boutique brokerage in a very upscale part of the state.
Dagny's Real Estate is now well established, with 7 agents and on the second call to her she was about to put 2 new listings on market.
For the events known as Meet-ups, which had been encouraged by ActiveRain to create the social part of the platform, her gatherings were by far the largest.
Many other gatherings were held in restaurants or offices, but Dagny opened up her home and it drew large numbers.
At one summer event there were over 30 ActiveRain members and even visiting members may have timed it to just experience this social event in person, as I was very surprised to walk onto her Deck and see Bob Crane sitting there with a beverage.
She is a very busy and active lady. The afternoon we last chatted, she was having treatment on her wrist created from a bad golf swing.
Her story of success from large to boutique agency would make for a good Zoom call, if one could only pin her down for that hour.
This post written with deepest affection for one of my favorite Rainers is for the ActiveRain April challenge, ActiveRain Reconnection hosted Debe Maxwell and Brad Andershon.
I originally had stated that the challenge was hosted by Eileen Burns and Kat Palmiotti, whom I first met at one of Dagny's Meet-ups, so I am now stating correctly.
