Yesterday it finally arrived - my shiny gold "Gen 3 Heritage Gold" smart ring. It was a birthday present to myself that promised to make it highly likely that there would be many birthdays to celebrate in the future - um, in my case, the Oura ring and my daily consumption of mushroom supplements.
There is only one problem. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how to sync it with my iPhone. During my next trip into the office, I'm sure I'll be able to find a colleague younger than my real estate license who will be able to coach me on how to do it, but I'd really love to be able to figure it out all by myself! Perhaps I'll be able to find a YouTube video that can help.
This morning, I looked at how it tracked last night's sleep, compared to the "Pillow" app I've been using on my Apple Watch, and the Pillow app score was a whole 12 points higher than the Oura ring's. The Oura's activity tracker made me look like the EverReady bunny, even though the ring was on my finger for just a few hours. Not an auspicious beginning!
The one benefit is that, once I get it figured out, I can ditch my Apple Watch and start using the pretty one that just tells time but needs a new battery.
