Tuesday's Treasures ~ My first Gardenia Bloom

Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty ~ 512.750.6899

I love the fragrance of Gardenias and decide this year I would plant a Gardenia bush in my lime green pot that sits outside my living room window on my deck. I‘ve always planted a white Plumbago in that pot but I couldn’t find any in late March. Since we were having an early spring I decided it was my chance to give a Gardenia an opportunity to produce its heavenly blooms!

I had 1 bloom on Monday and this morning two more have blossomed, with many more to come! I’m so glad this one seems to be happy in its location. I love how they look and their wonderful fragrance when I walk out on the deck.

Hello Dorie - regardless of season, nature seems to have sixth sense (well, so to speak) of what attracts people.  May your gardenia continue to bloom and brighten your days.  Happy Tuesday.

Good morning, Dorie.
Isn't it fun to watch the progress of our "Springing" plants as they come to life? I just love Spring. It is a time of renewal.

Gardenias have a wonderful scent, I think I need a large property so I can plant all the plants I want to surround myself with. We visited Winterthur, a Dupont Estate near Longwood Gardens on Sunday and the azaleas were at their height, the colors so vibrant, it was amazing. I said to Annie, how i wished to have enough money to create such a planting.

Dorie- I remember our first home had gardenia bushes in front. A good friend told me to pour pickle juice on the soil around them. I love your gardenias in the green planter.

Dorie, It's super cool to see everything waking up in spring.  Those gardenias are amazing as they start as tiny buds and then bloom into those big, fragrant flowers!

Dorie those would look great on my deck.  I am going to check them out at my local nursery.

Gardenias are very fragrant and better when you can see and smell them at will.

You have reminded me of my mother's garden in springtime.  It had a number of Gardenia plants.  You have inspired me.  I'm going to buy a couple for my own garden.  I do have Star Jasmin and Roses, which provide pleasant fragrance.

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - you reminded me of the gardenia plant I planted long ago. I was just as thrilled when the first one bloomed. The February ice storm of 2021 ended my gardenia's plant life. Thanks to your reminder, I'll have to get a replacement.

From reading your blog post, I could honestly relive the joy I felt with my previous gardenia planting. Thank you for the reminder and may yours thrive and give you always something to smell and smile simultaneously!

That looks nice!  I don't know flowers all that well, but that looks similar to the Jasmine bush that I have outside my front door, haha.
