Outdoor advertising digital signs need fresh video animation programing.

Noticed how in states with billboards the big static image is quickly being replaced with motion?

Clear, short message displays with attention getting transitions are showing up on animated outdoor advertising billboard road signs.

At airports, waiting in line inside / outside at your favorite fast-food outlet, digital LED displays use highly effective video marketing displays.

You and I have all seen the steaming hot juicy cheeseburger rotating slowly at a point of purchase counter or self-ordering kiosk.

You can almost smell the hot tasty food. The icy cold shake, sundae or cone swirled high with a sweet temptation asking you a simple question.

Don't you want one?

Why not order one? Or two, or three. Reminding you in case you had forgotten, you are hungry. Do something about it.

The fast-food outlet heard your grumbling stomach and are Johnny on the spot ready to serve you up something delicious. Just need to turn up the volume a tad on here's what you need to cure that hunger using clever video displays.

You were not hankering one but bet you are now. Maybe not pistachio like me so have it your way. Make it super sized black raspberry, the standard chocolate, strawberry, vanilla or coffee flavors.

Heck, while pumping gas, there is a video promoting a product, a local event, beaming in the news feed while you fuel up the Jeep or Tesla or Beemer.

Maybe you are visiting a urinal at a sport's arena event... yup.

It happens. Something for reading material. In the bathroom, advertising to scan while you ... er ... "see a man about a horse" is the Maine expression. Or answer a "nature call".

Wherever you make a short pit stop to powder your nose. Freshen up the cosmetics. There is a message to scan, retain and a call to action suggestion.

Impressions, paying for 100's, 1000's or more impressions is what it is all about promoting a product, peddling a service. Short, powerful, attractive video point of purchase marketing. Indoors, out doors, it's all around you and I.

This blog post is not a debate on how long or short a real estate video should be.

That is a discussion for another future YouTube Thursday blog post. But consider your property listing buyer and seller are "hungry" for services too. They need missing pieces you provide for their custom made individual real estate puzzle solutions.

Outdoor advertising is a 'hole 'nother application for your video programming.

Unlike a 2000 word blog post, a 10 minute or longer long form YouTube video, the out front of your real estate office display is short and sweet. Has to be because motorists are flying by at usually over the speed limit.

Paragraphs of text, hard to read skinny fonts, no color contrast hurt your message. 

Those factors all decrease the effectiveness of your video digital message delivery. The motorist or pedestrian can only absorb so much of a message in the few seconds it shows up in the corner of their eye.

So serve it up in small, eye catching easy to digest bite size video servings.

Keep it simple, easy does it is not a choice, but a given in outdoor displaysee-dick-see-jane-simple advertising.

A little animation motion, a GIF or two, the transitions you program all combine to add life to the keep it a simple memorable delivery.

Whatever a video imagery message rotates in and out on your out-front real estate yard sign display.

The bigger the display, the higher the pixel count, the more expensive your digital LED outdoor advertising display sign will cost.

You will find lots of options for buying a digital LED outdoor sign. But not so many providers of programming to display on it. That's why instead of spending a fortune trying to create local programming you can produce your own easily.

Digital billboards deliver widespread, repeated colorful exposure.

The goal in advertising is to reach a larger audience but also to do it with a level of frequency. So the message sinks in and is remembered without being obnoxious.

Like to sell? Home to big? Cramped? Ready to buy? Turn here. 

This may date me and it can seem like See Dick, See Jane, Where is Puff and Spot.  But in your local real estate area, the people who travel by your office every day need to pick up your simple message signal. Keep it small, simple, short.

Your creative, consistent, positive message video / imagery boost your brand. Promote properties, real estate agents, anything happening in the local community.

Video is full motion, and the audio track is not usually a consideration on an outdoor or even some indoor advertising video displays.

But when audio is part of the video, bad audio is less tolerable than not so hot video.

None of those help your video presentation.

Removing those distractions and any negatives will help the overall video production tenfold.

Bill Salvatore - East Valley ... Maine has no billboards since 1974. But front lawn display digital signs out front the office are very effective in so many ways.

     Small video snippets, animations of stills are part of the programing and anything local gets displayed like a community bulletin board. RTZ can not do that and don't live work play where you and I do!

Mini movie, short bite size presentation. Instead of one stuck in time image. What would you be drawn to Kat Palmiotti. Website video headers are making things more dynamic and interesting today. Don't get left behind. Stand out and stay current the marketing goal.

Motion, animation, colors and movement. They make the static dead image that does not move such a contrast in whatever is presented.

Video is live, more interesting to watch and keeps your attention. The transitions can help the engagement or if done wrong take away from the concentration Dorie Dillard Austin TX

I see so many poorly designed billboards that try to squeeze too much info and as a result the drivers passing by can't get the message nor see the branding that well.

There's definitely an art and science to effective billboard design

Interesting post! Billboards are not allowed here in Alaska. There are None... Not one Billboard in Alaska!

So, they would certainly get some attention, but they would not last long! As one Governor said... You never have to worry about billboards in Alaska because everyone in Alaska owns a chainsaw!
