South Pasadena, California is an amazing community in Los Angeles County. The neighborhoods are filled with single family homes - most of them are historic (since the city doesn't permit tearing a historic home down). The schools are top-rated and the police and fire departments are always close by since the entire city is only 3 square miles.
One of the great aspects of living in South Pasadena is the wide variety of incredible events that take place in this small city. There is a weekly farmer's market with fresh produce directly from local farms. There are also Arts Crawls and a recent event where streets were blocked off to limit the traffic to only bicycles and pedestrians.
One annual event that has been going on for 14 consecutive years is the Eclectic Music Festival. There are also streets blocked off for pedestrian traffic only - and TONS of local bands participate. There are multiple stages throughout the city and local artists and vendors are also invited to set up booths and food trucks. They have a beer garden and it's generally just a big party that's family friendly.
