The American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM), is a professional society for people who provide invaluable services to their clients. I'm drawing this description right off the national website:
- Bill paying, including calls to payees regarding incorrect bills and preparation of payments for client approval.
- Reconciling checking accounts and investment statements.
- Preparing and making bank deposits.
- Organizing tax documents.
- Negotiating with creditors.
- Reviewing medical insurance papers and verifying proper processing of claims.
- Providing general organization of financial papers and systems.
- Referring clients to legal, tax, and investment professionals and to community resources.
I've had the pleasure of remotely partnering with a DMM. I got our client's paperwork in physical order because it was chaotic - reduced the bulk by sending junk mail and duplicate papers to shred or recycle, got everything resorted by subject and in chronological order. The DMM then came in and helped our client understand the current state of her finances, got some systems in place for paying the bills. My client saw an immediate reduction in late fees. It was phenomenal.
I had the wonderful opportunity to teach the Pacific Northwest AADMM chapter about Professional Organizers, so that even more of us can form partnerships for our clients. I'm thrilled to have built that bridge.
