An ActiveRain Challenge

Recently, the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) decided to settle a lawsuit that I believe to be frivolous. While the settlement might seem to bring about change, it actually doesn't alter my business practices at all. However, it does make the cost of real estate more confusing and potentially more expensive for you, the consumer. 

This settlement has particularly tough implications for first-time buyers, lower-income FHA buyers, and my most served group - VA buyers who deserve a break. In essence, these groups may face more challenges now. The irony is that the real winners in this lawsuit were the lawyers, who operated with the same behaviors they accused our profession of.

I've always conducted my business with the highest standards, and these changes only mean that I will continue to serve you with the same dedication. I wrote about his recently in my post: In The Arena  It’s business as usual for me—but with a bigger and tougher job ahead, especially in helping those this lawsuit was supposed to protect.


Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who's honest.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who put's his client's needs first.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who's adept at work / life balance boundaries which means I'm recharged, happy and giving you the best of me not what's left of me.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who believe in closing escrow with advocates not just compensation checks.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who has been professionally business coached for 29 years. Yes longer than I've been a REALTOR®.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who has been a business owner for over 40 years and know customer service is a mentality, not just a department.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® if you want a marketing-maniac, who will broadcast your home for sale with a megphone of digital and tradional marketing tools and techniques.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that survived and then thrived during a National Market Crash 2007-2011.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that that survived and then thrived during a Global Pandemic.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that is a ferociously strategic negotiator for your results, your money and your best interests.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® who's networked with over 3,500 REALTORS® he has a personal connection with, and relationships with of 500 of them: Nationwide & in Canada that can serve you when you move, help your family and friends from afar and provide you with relocating buyers for your house.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that is a problem solver, that has gone above and beyond on multiple deals per year for over 25 years to save deals that would have otherwise crashed and burned.

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that communicates well and is surrounded with a hand picked team of professionals that have his back, consequently they have your back too!

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that is passionate about his work, cares about his clients, stays in touch after the close for months, years and decades. Some original clients are still being served 25 years later.

 

Do not hire me if you want a REALTOR® that will impact and improve your life!

Nice entry for the Challenge. There will be some adjustment to the new requirements but once everyone gets a sense of the flow, it may well be almost as usual.

We don't know whether life is trouser-less and underwear-optional. Still, whether it feels like a nonstop progression of "perpetual pigtail tangles" and perplexing pickle predicaments or "booby-trapped banana peels' and unavoidable anvil accidents, we can sometimes experience it with a dash of sarcastic humor. I am a little late to this featured post-party, but applaud you for calling things what they are! We need more of that. I am encouraged by the one MLS refusing to eliminate the coop commission field because it would make things much less transparent for all involved. I cannot comprehend how making things less transparent can possibly be in the best interest of consumers?!
