Facebook Is At It Again.

May 22, 2023 at the wee hours of the morning, I was notified by several friends that my page was hacked. I created a new page. I lost my groups, pages, friends and memories.

Today, FB showed me a memory from 3 days before the hack. It has been showing me old friends too. I shared the memory and they deleted the page saying it went against their community standards. I posted a text saying, they deleted my post and put me in jail. They suspended my account. I sent the recovery info but I could not recover the last time!

I'm sure the new page is gone permanently. I never did recreate my old pages/groups because there were too many.

My first page was not recoverable because my government name is Dolores and Dee is my nickname. Be warned. Be sure your page name matches your drivers license. Mine does but displaces Dee.

Sadly, those scammers are taking away our memories. Many of my friends have gotten off FB for that very reason. Sorry this has happened to you.

My old account had a business page and I put many useful files there for buyers, sellers, investors. I did not recreate that page. I was thinking about it but just was burned out by the loss of the old one. I lost the page when the old account was hacked.

DAILY I get 'recovery PW' on my FB and X accounts, and it's always good for a little hyperventilating . . .

A few things I learned to do to avoid the little asshole hackers:
1. Private page, my posts are never public but friends only
2. Cannot message me if not a friend - message request only
3. (this is the hard one) I try not to comment on public posts. The attempts always seem to come after a comment is made to a friend who 'collects people' and has their posts public.

I'd rather not go through what you have, and other friends have. It's so unfair!

Follow up. Someone suggested I write about the saga of the old page and the issues it caused to the Attorney General of our State and I will do that. I'd love to recover the page stolen last year.

I'll let you know if that works.
