My car had to get towed for the second time. It just did not feel good after its last fix. Maybe it was me, but the car and I were in synch. Then the air in the car started turning on and off. I decided I was right; something was off. I called the Mercedes dealer and told them I felt unsafe driving it in. So Mercedes had it towed for me free of charge. I was also given a free Lift ride up to $110 to the dealer, but the link disappeared. Getting it redownloaded was a huge problem, so I drove up with a tow truck guy.
My neighbor upstairs said he would drive me, and I know other friends would have, but it is a long ride, and I did not want to impose. It was a quiet ride at first, and then, as we were driving, I noticed how many trucks were on the road. He took the turnpike, and I took the back roads up there.
So, I asked how he felt about electric cars and trucks. He told me they keep him in business. There was always something going wrong. I would not even go into some of the information he told me. My mouth hung open. Especially the part about self-driving trucks. The other details on how everything has to be updated. The tires are ultra-sensitive, too. Just like our phones and electronic lock boxes must be updated, you need to update your car, which is too complex for me. The question I asked was undoubtedly an icebreaker. It was a fascinating conversation.
The manager at Mercedes said they are only making new electric cars. Mercedes gave terrific service and did not charge me anything. Whatever the problem was, it is no more. Excellent and friendly service means everything. That is how I was treated like family at Faulkner Mercedes in Doylestown.
