Every day I wake up I am grateful, I do not take it for granted as I age becoming more aware of all there is to be grateful for. With all the political news, international disasters and wars, national troubles, challenges in our business with the changes due to the NAR settlement and now the DOJ through one of their lawyers saying they want no offers of compensation anywhere from listing brokers to buyer agents.
So, it is good to take a moment to just be thankful for the little things. The smell of your morning coffee, the light as the sun comes up, the sighting of a bald eagle. Enjoying the plants that are growing in your yard, the air you are breathing right now and now and now....
It is easy to allow yourself to become overwhelmed with all the negative. But seeing the light, and funny side of life is a way to lift the clouds and see the sun. I always like flying on a cloudy day, as you rise through the cloud level, there is the sun. It is always there, even on a cloudy day and it is good to remind yourself of that on a dark and rainy day that above the clouds the sun is still shining. There are periods and seasons and time passes and things change.
We cannot always have flat seas and smooth sailing, sometimes you encounter a storm and some waves, but you are resilient, and if needed you can ask for help, I am sure there are people only too willing to help you through a storm.
It is good to remember people are inherently good and will often come to the aid of those in need. Take a moment to ask yourself if you are seeing the clouds and missing the sun and as a result missing those little things that are worth being thankful for every day.
Stop for a moment or longer and think about what and who you have to be thankful for right now, a spouse, family, children, grand-children, friends, having food in the fridge, a book to read, your sight, your sense of smell....see there is so much, it only takes a moment to change your view. Listen to some happy music and lift your soul.
Enjoy your day.
