They make a harness for that.

Knowing what a HUGE business the pet business is it should be no surprise that there is money to be made on just about any product no matter how strange it is. I may have posted in the past about my daughters backpack specifically made for taking birds for walks. It was fun and it was a real attention getter. Here are some leashes/harnesses that may surprise you.

About the only thing I didn't see is an insect carrier but I think they have those for little boys to carry their captured trophies in.

Bob "RealMan" Timm  Great information! The small pet vest and leash cracked me up!

I wasn't aware that there are backpacks made for taking birds for walks! Seriously? Oh, what opportunities lie for entrepreneurs who love pets and consumers who love to shop for the most unusual gifts that someone will enjoy!

Well said Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP . My wife keeps a picture on her phone of me and the birds in the back pack so once she texts it to me I will add it to this comment.

Bob "RealMan" Timm - Oh my goodness! I am so glad you posted this picture! In a million years, I couldn't come up with a bird backpack like that one on your back! And does your bird respond to nature while toting it around for a morning walk?

Curious minds want to know!

Bob "RealMan" Timm - What a GREAT photo! I like it better than your profile. It sends a message, I'm not ordinary, simply extraordinary for all creatures on earth!

Thank you for those kind comments Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP . It actually is Tina's bird back pack but at the time it was for our birds. They did enjoy getting out and it really took no time for them to get used to it. The birds that used it are the ones I posted about a while back that saved Tina's life (giving up their own) by alerting her to a gas leak in her apartment. She has yet to replace them due to her crazy schedule. College graduation and now a month in Italy. Then it's some other planned trip and then her wedding. She is a very busy girl.

Good morning Bob. A back pack for taking birds for walks? Then again, why not. While living in Florida, I saw a few people walking with a bird on their shoulder. Why not a back pack to make everyone more comfortable? Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin having lived in FL did you ever see anyone walking a pet reptile? BTW Carol keeps a picture on her phone of me and the birds in the back pack so once she texts it to me I will add it to this comment.

Wayne Martin and Bob "RealMan" Timm - I feel so ashamed. When my husband was alive, he came home with a cockatoo on his shoulder. He told me the bird just flew inside his car, landed on his shoulder, and wouldn't fly away. Unfortunately, I never believed him. I thought he lied. We had that bird for many years, but I never believed that cockatootudie tale! I'm so ashamed.

No need to be ashamed Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP . Birds are highly intelligent and your husbands attaching friend was certainly lost and hoping to find a kind soul to adopt it. I had one cockatiel that seemed to be capable of holding a conversation but truth be told he just had a perticular conversation memorized. It was about 4 sentences long. He also spoke some Filipino he learned from a former girl friend of mine.

You made me think about the money we are saving by not having any pets.

Have an outstanding holiday weekend.

Pets certainly have become more expensive over the years Roy Kelley . We used to own a pet store 20+ years ago and I don't remember a bag of dog food more expensive than Science Diet for about $30.00. Today there are many brands that sell for $70.00 or more.

Good morning, Bob... this is beyond bizarre! But it did have me laughing. I think I'll just stick with my dog and cat! (No leash for my cat, by the way)

Although I have not owned a cat Nina Hollander, Broker I know they do not like leashes. Our leash law in Minot requires cats to be on a leash if they are outside of your home. I think if people did (I know they don't) we would have much less trouble with Ferrell cats.
