Blooms A Poppin' in Prospect CT 7

We are into the last Sunday of May and as Memorial Day is on the horizon, so is the end of my Spring flower blog.

Not that the flowers are over in our yard, but all should have their colors by now.

The rhododendrons are starting to bloom and, in our yard, there are 10 plants with blooms starting to show their colors.

As one enters our driveway, the irises are in bloom and the day lilies are not very far behind.

We will enjoy our yard and all the perennials that are getting planted to light up the decks as well.

Hope you enjoy the colors in your areas as well.

Good morning Ed. Relocating from the downtown concrete jungle of Chicago to the far western suburbs, I am paying more attention to the spring blooms. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin   We are indeed very fortunate as I know I would not have had anywhere near the blooms had I bought a simple yard.

Good morning, Ed... those rhododendron are just too gorgeous for words! My hydrangea bushes are now blooming and I always wish that flowering bushes like these would flower all year long.

We are away from home for a few days. I know that when we return home our neighborhood will be alive with color. Especially my wife's roses.

John Juarez   Thanks for stopping. Our yard has colors all over and I am surprised that the original landscaper chose to not have any roses.

Hi Ed:

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series on your spring flowers. It brings back fond memories of various plantings we had at our different homes in New England. Rhododendrons were one of our favorites.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - I am so impressed with your perennials! They make great curb appeal and I bet the scent is heavenly! Your rhododendrons are absolutely gorgeous. I never tried them when I lived in IL. I did plant a Peony branch after nursing it in a bucket of water for a whole year before planting it and it turned out beautiful! I cried when I had to leave it behind when I moved to TX. Neither rhododendron nor Peonies grow in my zone. The purple irises are so pretty edging the curb with tall leaves in their backdrop. I certainly enjoyed your pretty flowers!
