On Memorial Day: Honor, Remember, Give Thanks For Those Who Gave All
"No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks."
... St Ambrose
Let's each of us pause for a moment today to honor the memories of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in giving their lives for our country and our cherished freedoms. Let's also reflect on the sacrifices made by the families of the fallen. On this Memorial Day, I hope each of us will take the opportunity to acknowledge their selfless sacrifice, pay our respects and express our heartfelt gratitude.
"This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn't come home. This is not Veteran's Day, it's not a celebration, it is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom."

In the words of President John F. Kennedy:
"A nation reveals itself not only by the mend it produces, but also by the men it remembers, the men it honors."
Today, let's honor and say thank you for the brave men and women who gave all and families and loved ones left behind. And as we do so, let's remember our own commitments to live and serve with passion, joy and enthusiasm.
"The brave die never, though they sleep in dust, their courage nerves a thousand living men."

James A Garfield
"We don't know them all, but we owe them all."
