Kathy Streib and Debe Maxwell are hosting this month's ActiveRain Challenge titled "Why Choose Me?" This should be a simple challenge, but I have never felt comfortable talking about myself. I have always felt that if you do an excellent job for your clients they will do the talking for you, and that is how I have build my business over the last 18 plus years.
Since I feel that way, in submitting an entry into this challenge I could post several 5 Star Reviews I have received over the years, but instead I have decided to take advantage of another ActiveRain Challenge in 2013. In 2013 long time ActiveRain Member, Debbie Reynolds, hosted an ActiveRain Challenged titled "Endorse a Fellow ActiveRain Member". For this challenge we were asked to write a letter of recommendation for another ActiveRain Member, and Ed Silva choose to write one of his recommendation letters about me as one of his entries.
In his letter of recommendation, Ed did a much better job of why someone should choose me as their Loan Originator or to recommend me to one of their clients, than I ever could. Also as you can see from both my photo and Ed's photo from 11 years ago, we both had a lot less white hair. Below is Ed's blog with my letter of recommendation.

A Letter of Recommendation for George Souto, an Exceptional Loan Officer and Person
I would like to recommend, strongly recommend, Mr. George Souto, a Senior Loan Officer for McCue Mortgage in New Britain. George is a very dedicated individual who works for his clients and follows through on every part of the process that is under his purvey.
George Souto is a very soft spoken man, and extremely knowledgeable with the regulations and requirements needed to qualify a lender and also counsel them. George works his job to the convenience of the buyer and as he’s done for one of my clients, holds hours in the early evening to get a client’s application entered on time.
When the banking regulations were changed mandating licensing exams and certification, George Souto was there immediately taking his classes and passing his exams.
Always active, George Souto is vigilant in keeping up with the industry and being sure to read up on potential changes in lending requirements and with making sure all around him are as versed with the changes as he is.
George Souto works for McCue Mortgage, who is the largest servicer for the State of Connecticut CHFA program, which provides mortgages for qualifying first time home buyers at special rates. Mr. Souto recognizes the importance of getting the loan to close and appreciates the recognition of the agents that refer clients to him. He closely follows the transaction and will call the clients and their agents promptly with information that may either require attention or to just inform of the progress.
George Souto is an active member of his community, his church and the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce.
The clients that I’ve sent to George for mortgage have spoken highly of his professionalism and dedication. I have no doubt that any future clients I send his way would say the same.
In our business, we cannot steer a buyer to a specific lender, but I offer a prospective clients lenders that I can trust and am always sure to let them know George Souto will get their mortgage for them.
