What makes Handel’s extra special is its incredible history. Can you believe it goes way back in 1945? A lady named Alice Handel started making ice cream in Youngstown, Ohio. She used fresh fruits from her garden and secret recipes, and her ice cream became a neighborhood favorite.

For my family, Ike’s Creamery is a favorite. Their ice cream is delicious. They have classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate, but they also have some exciting ones like mango dole whip. You can get one, two, or three scoops in a cone; their waffle cones are perfect.

If you love putting lots of toppings on your ice cream (like I do), they have everything you can imagine — sprinkles, cherries, chocolate, whipped cream, and more. They also make sundaes with hot fudge and caramel.

And their banana splits? They’re huge! We once bet my 10-year-old grandson that he couldn’t finish one, and he proved us wrong!

Brooker’s Founding Flavors Ice Cream had a fascinating story, and it all started with a guy named Brian Brooker who dreamed of making his own ice cream.

Around 25 years ago, after Brian finished high school, he went on an adventure along the Appalachian Trail in the northeastern United States. What’s remarkable is that he made a tradition of trying the local ice cream in different towns along the way during his trip.

After graduating from BYU, Brian and his wife went to Europe. Part of that trip was because Brian was studying to become a lawyer and a business pro. During their European adventure, especially in Italy and 11 other countries, they tasted authentic Italian gelato and fell in love with it. This experience sparked the idea of making their own fantastic treats.

Brian decided to dive into the world of making top-quality ice cream. He spent over a decade learning from the experts and studying ice cream-making.

Brooker’s Founding Flavors have some fun and unique flavors, each with an incredible story behind it:

  1. George Washington’s Indispensable Flavor: It’s a chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cups and peanut butter swirl. A delicious combo!
  2. Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Cookie Dough: This one’s salted milk chocolate ice cream with chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate, chocolate chip cookie dough. A double dose of cookie goodness!

Good morning Katerina. Nothing like a good ice cream shop. And, in Provo seems like you have a lot of choices. The tour to select the best would definitely be fun. Enjoy the tour if you take it!

Katerina Gasset we have a couple of really good ice cream places around here.  Not good for my blood sugar, but I cheat a few times a year.
