What are the Closest Beaches to The Villages, Florida

By
Real Estate Agent with TOUCHSTONE REAL ESTATE SL3537832

The Villages, Florida is just about in the center of the state between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.  As a crow flies The Villages is 60 miles from the Atlantic and 45 miles from the Gulf driving is a bit further depending on where you live in The Villages.  Let’s start at Lake Sumter Landing and check some beaches for driving distance.

Daytona Beach (Atlantic), 74 miles, great place to visit we like Daytona Beach Shores.

New Smyrna Beach (Atlantic), 75 miles, great beach and good restaurants.

Clearwater Beach (Gulf), 105 miles, great area and personally like the Gulf beaches better.

St Pete Beach (Gulf), 113 miles, nice area as well.

Now our closest beach is one most people never heard of, and it is just a beach so bring what you might need.  Just 54 miles away is Fort Island Gulf Beach, there are plenty of great seafood restaurants close by and an easy drive to enjoy a few hours of sun and fun on the Gulf beach!

Perhaps I missed this, but I am wondering if there are any man-made beaches within the Villages?  In the East Valley there are quite a few communities that have man-made beaches since we are not near the ocean, haha.

Good morning Dick. With so many pools in The Villages the allure of a beach can't be that big or people would relocate closer. Enjoy your day.

I have had a pool at my home for nearly 30 years, but nothing beats the ocean / gulf.

Dick Betts one thing about living in CT, we are just a hope skip and a jump away from a beach no matter where you live in the state.

As I read the comments and see the one by Brian England   man-made beaches in Central FL would have to sensitive to critters moving in and not all people friendly.
