A seller’s market happens when the demand for homes surpasses the supply of homes listed on the market for sale. This means there are more interested buyers looking for a residence, and fewer homes actually for sale. Because there are fewer homes available, sellers who are looking to sell have the advantage.

 

A seller's market is where the buyers need to compete with other buyers also looking for a home. Sometimes in this market condition, buyers may be willing to spend more on property. Because of this, buyers have less power to negotiate a better deal.

Good morning Larry and Sheila. Many people benefited from the low interest rates of a few years ago and refinanced. Now, they are prisoners of their mortgage rate. Those who can or need to sell have been doing so. That said demand is still there and listings are dwindling. It looks like it will continue to be a sellers market in many areas of the country. Good morning, Sheila and Larry. Was just having this conversation with a client yesterday, who is thinking about moving across the border into SC. He said he thinks he wants to wait until it's more of a buyer's market and I reminded him that right now it's a great seller's market for him... so he can wait for a better buyer's market, but it will probably impact his sale price on his current home.
