Toss It To Me Baby | No Fork Required

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with KD Realty - 408.972.1822 CA DRE#01366594

This is my all-time favorite go-to salad. I use all Organic products. I promise you won’t find a fresh and clean salad like this in any restaurant.

Nothing Artificial Baby, the Taste is in the Spoon.

Ingredients:
•    Broccoli
•    Cauliflower
•    Zucchini
•    Carrots
•    Avocado
•    Fuji Apple
•    Cilantro
•    Limes
•    Dried Cranberries
•    Raisons (Thompsons)
•    Walnuts
•    Garbanzo Beans
•    Black Olives
•    Feta Cheese

Let's Get Started!

Wash/bathe fruit and vegetables with Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide

There is a formula for this. 2 cups water to 1oz.  H₂O₂.
I soak for at least 20 minutes.

  • Then rinse and let stand in fresh rinse water for 10-15 minutes. This step is not necessary. Once rinsed and drained it is ready to go.
  • Remove at set out to drain.

***********

  • Cut vegetables and the apple into bite-size pieces in a large bowl with enough room to toss. Pick the cilantro leaves off the stem and place into the bowl.

  • Add dried Fruit and Nuts

Nut Substitutes:
Pine Nuts
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower Seeds

Fresh Dressing
•    Juice from squeezed lime(s) (3 parts juice to 1 part Olive Oil)
•    Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
•    Organic Oregano Essential Oil (3-5 drops)
•    Dried Oregano
•    Oregano Essential Oil
•    Black Pepper
•    Sea Salt

  • Prepare the dressing then pour it over the salad bowl and toss.
  • Cut Avocado into bite-size pieces and place into the salad bowl.
  • Lightly sprinkle Sea Salt and gently toss again.

Dish it and Enjoy.

There is not a lot of "measuring" involved. It is about creating balance with all of the ingredients. Make adjustments according to taste.

I like more citrus in the dressing. Adjust the ratio of lime juice and olive oil as appropriate.

The amount of veggies and fruit bathing in the photo is enough for four (4) salads.  Only the broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, zucchini, apple, and cilantro are placed in food containers.  This makes the prep time for a quick salad no more than 10 minutes.

It takes time to prep - so why not prep to make a salad for several meals?  It makes sense. I just love this salad.  It is a total meal for me Kathy Streib

This sounds great, Kathleen... except for the olives, walnuts, olive oil... all of which I'm allergic to... but I could find substitutes... also for the feta cheese... never did develop a taste for feta.

There are so many things about the salad that can be substituted Miss Nina Hollander, Broker

I do not always add the Feta cheese but I do enjoy a little in the salad.

It is certainly different Miss Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can! I love the "freshness" that can be tasted, unlike salads that swim in dressing filled with preservatives.

What a wonderful sounding salad. I just made a salad for lunch, I love salads and Annie my wife always makes a side salad with dinner. I love adding chick peas as well, a friend roasted them recently and that made them nice and crunchy too. So many options.
