How often do you contact your your sellers and buyers, I  always tell our sellers they will hear from me either by email, text or voice once a week on Monday.  I give them an update of what we are doing to sell their house and what the feedback has been for the last week (I call it, the good, the bad and the ugly).

Communication is key when working with clients.  On some of the expired listings we have listed, the sellers biggest complaint has been that they never hear from their agent once the sign goes in the ground.  We think that it is important to keep the sellers informed so they do not get frustrated with the selling process.  And besides, they may know someone else who wants to sell their home and if we do a good job, they will recommend us. 

Once a week seems to be the right amount of time to give our sellers an update, unless there is a contract.   Contracts are the best type of feedback we can give our sellers.

In the last few years, my inventory has shrunk, so I contact them a couple times a week, minimally, with feedback, which is easy since my listings have all sold in about 10 days the last 3 years, 6 days last year.  In a more normal market, one phone call weekly unless more are required.

I have never done anything like this in my 30+ years in real estate. I communicate with my buyers and sellers as/when needed... sometimes that's several times a day, sometimes that's several times a week... but I never promise to just contact them on any specific day. So far, no complaints from my clients about my communication.
