Well...this is a first for me this month. It is actually 4:46pm CDT on Friday and I have started the blog #22 of 30 a day early!
I am sure I will not finish it as I have some work clothes in the dryer and they will beep in about 4 minutes and 17 seconds and counting down.
I do my own laundry and have for decades. I do not feel it is Robyn's responsibility to keep me in clean clothes.
I also use a separate bathroom and maintain it. We typically clean on Thursday nights so that we now have our Fridays and weekends without house cleaning chores. We cleaned last night as scheduled and then ate and went for a walk.
You may remember that I mentioned a while back we used to clean businesses on Friday nights and that is what put our kids through school as we had them attend private school mainly because of classroom size but the Christian aspect was important as well.
Anyway...this blog is not about school or even cleaning, which is one of my least favorite things to do (unless it has wheels).
This blog is about the crazy Bird things that happen every day.
Like the baby Robin#1 somehow this Friday afternoon ending up in our garage... in the trash can... the one with a swivel lid... and the fact that I even found it in time to get it back out in the bird world.
I should have taken a photo but was so shocked...I was not even thinking anything but get back into its environment.
I think it will survive and hope it was not in the trash too long.
Well..there went my phone beeper to get the clothes out of the dryer, so I will finish this later...plus have to go check on the baby#1 Robin.
The mama Robin is now hanging close to one of our window wells...better make sure baby Bird#1 didn't decide to go down in there...cause it won't get back out on its own. Nope...not in there and Baby#2 is still in the nest. Not sure where Baby#1 went as it tried to fly away from the patio chair it was on.
2 hour Update...It is back perched on our chair Friday evening. Guess we will leave it there.
And finish this on Saturday!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok it is now Saturday evening...was working on building a table for my daughter most of the day. So better finish this blog up.
Had to start this Saturday watching Mama Robyn feeding her Baby#1 while perched on one of our patio chairs. Yes...Baby#1 came back from wherever over night and was back up on the chair.
We decided to go sit on the patio and Baby#1 flew about 40 feet and banged into the white fence in the background but appeared to be okay!
About an hour later, while Baby #1 was out in the yard... and we were sitting on the patio, I saw the Mama fly down in our window well and YEP...Baby#2 was in the window well.
SO I got the rope and a 5 gallon bucket and a long stick and with my Robyn's help...we got baby #2 out and Mama Robin who was screaming at us all the time immediately took her out in the yard.
It was time to go on with our day and wished Mama good luck! Robyn went out to our daughters to help her do some chores and I went to work in the garage on the table for Jaime.
Robyn got home and we got ready for church and Jaime came into town and went to church and out to supper with us.
Guess what happened while she was leaving and while saying our goodbyes?
Mama Robin flew by in the front yard and landed about 15 feet from me with a worm in her beak. All of our interaction had taken place in the back yard.
She mosied out into the side yard, and then took off but I have not seen where the 2 young ones are...they are not near the nest or the patio. Must be around and maybe she was saying thank you.
It was fun while it lasted!!
Robyn asked how did I know it is the same Mama Robin. This Mama Robin has a very dark orange/red breast versus all the others I have seen...and also is fairly slender compared to the others.
So now the sun is setting...My wife is talking with her Mom on the phone...and the College World Series is going A&M's way tonight so far. So I guess this is where I close and say have a great evening if you are west of me and a great Sunday wherever you are!
Until Next Time...It is okay to lend a helping hand when needed to whoever or whatever needs it!! Mike
