Staging a Silver Spring home for sale. A glimpse behind the scenes.

Getting a house ready for the market is an exciting process. It's such a rewarding moment when you see it all come together. After weeks and months of working with our sellers and collaborating with contractors (when needed), we finally get to staging day. An even better moment is when we hear our clients say Is that my house? I am not sure I still want to move! after seeing the professional pictures and virtual tour.

Catch a glimpse behind the scenes when we staged this just remodeled 4-level split home in the Tamarack Triangle of Silver Spring, MD. Most often we will work with our sellers, utilizing their furniture, editing their belongings and rearranging to create a better or more coherent flow, and bringing in accessories to add a few touches where needed. In this case, we had a blank canvas to work with, all 2,500+ square feet of it. 3 days of hauling our staging furniture to the house, unloading, staging each room, and hunting for last-minute accessories pulling it all together.

Staging is worth it! I firmly believe in its magic, staged homes simply show better and look much better in pictures. Pictures are the first impression buyers get of a home. Staging helps with spatial awareness, elicits emotional responses, and results in better and higher offers.

P.S. I promise, the YouTube short is more exciting than the first image may lead you to believe. Unfortunately, YouTube picks the thumbnail randomly. It is what it is.

Good morning, Andrea... I agree, staging is totally worth it, including virtual staging and staging with a homeowner's own things.

I am not a fan of virtual staging, Nina Hollander, Broker, I like the real thing. We can do a lot by just editing the seller's belongings and bringing in some accessories.

Andrea Bedard I often list vacant properties that don't justify the expense of "actual" staging. I've found that virtual staging works very well and gives people an idea of how the space could look.

Wow, that is a lot of work you put into staging the home, and definitely earned the beers!

A lot of work, but also a lot of fun! And it paid off (as it always does)... more about that soon. Yes, the beers were earned :) Thank you, Brian England
