Best Ramen Restaurants in and near Provo Utah

Have you ever been to a ramen place in Provo Utah? It feels like going back to when I lived in Japan, where ramen was a big part of everyday life and culture.

Walking around busy Tokyo or quiet Kyoto, I learned that ramen is more than just what’s in the bowl–its flavors tell a story of tradition and creativity.

Now, in Provo, I keep exploring ramen places! I found many different flavors and styles here. Some places reminded me of Japan, while others have unique takes on ramen.

K’s Kitchen is named after Kazuyo Stevenson, who was born and raised in Hokkaido Japan, and only moved to Orem, UT, in March of 2018. She has fed a large family for many, many years, and after visiting Utah over the years, she felt there was a need for authentic Japanese cuisine in Utah County.

She has made it her goal in life now to bring authentic, delicious Japanese food, focused on Domburi, which are traditional rice bowl dishes, to Utah County, and found an ideal location in Downtown Provo, right across the street from the Provo City offices.

As you will learn, K’s Kitchen is an at-home environment, run by many members of her family, where not only is the food truly authentic, handmade by Kazuyo herself, but she has also placed an emphasis on “Omotenashi”, which is the Japanese term used at the 2020 Japanese Olympic bid, to explain the Japanese version of “hospitality”.

Later, northern nomads who settled in China enhanced the pot with beef and mutton, and southerners did the same with seafood. In the Qing dynasty, the hot pot became popular throughout the whole area of China. Hot Pot used to be favored only in winter, but recently Hot Pot also appears on tables in other seasons. Some people especially like eating it in summer, sitting in front of a fire with an air-conditioner working behind and saying it couldn’t have been better!

Good Morning Katerina Gasset

I had no idea there were that many Asian-style eateries in Provo. In our little town of 8700, a Japanese Ramen place just opened its doors. People are giving good reviews so I may go. My reluctance so far has been the prices of the selections which are more than any price you listed in Provo

Doug Dawes  We have a ton of Asian eateries in and around Provo. Salt Lake City has even more. We also have many amazing Hawaiian food eateries and even franchise chains.

This is because we do have a good number of Asians and Polynesians in Utah.

Loved your post and I had to smile at the price points, here in Los Angeles CA you can not even get food at Mc Donalds for those prices.... WHY? thanks to our Governor increasing the hourly wages to $20 go figure, businesses are shuttering, and people have to cook food at home...Endre

I know! Right! It is absurd!! And so many Californians are moving to Utah... I only pray they don't vote for those same policies here.

We have great prices although they have gone up due to inflation. But we still find great mom and pop eateries at reasonable prices.
