My Ring Doorbell Debacle---OOOOPS !

Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty 8431215

This post was inspired by Pat Starnes-Front Gate Realty and her new post about the same topic.

My  introduction to a Ring doorbell was (I have no idea how) many  years ago.  I arrived at the home before the seller, and called my wife to report the details as to what a horror the house looked from the outside.  There were several little TREES growing in the front gutter.  There was an abandoned car, and I think I may have mentioned something about the likelihood of an axe murderer living there which------------

Mid conversation with my wife, I heard someone speaking to me from the front (and still closed door).

I had no

idea what was happening.

My wife did, and she said, "Oh No, Honey".

Needless to say, I did not get the listing.

Funny and sad at the same time Michael Elliott  personally not a fan of Ring, and not just for not getting the listing but for all the other negativity, people who brake in use the Ring to their advantage, Endre

Oh my!  I constantly tell my clients that we should discuss the property away from the home for fear of being overheard due to ring doorbells, or other types of security cameras, but I don't think I would have been on the alert, unless I had spotted the ring camera in advance, in the situation you described.

Alan May at that time, I had no idea what a ring doorbell was!

Hahaha. I'm sorry you didn't get the listing (you may have dodged a bullet) but too funny about the Ring doorbell. I had an experience also at a friend's house. Too funny.

Good morning Michael,

I have a feeling not getting this listing might have been a good thing! Funny lesson to learn about how our conversations can be heard and interpreted. I always tell my clients no talking right about their thoughts of a home they want me to known outside any front door or inside. One never knows and just assume their are listening devices.
