A new retail development opening in D'Iberville is expected to create many new jobs for this Mississippi gulf coast town. This is great news for and area 3 years removed from the ravages of  Hurricane Katrina.

The developers plan to officially break ground Tuesday for The Promenade retail center in D'Iberville. About 1,000 jobs will be created and The Promenade is expected to generate more than $185 million in annual retail sales.

"We believe The Promenade will serve to revitalize the area and create a much needed retail hub and service district for the D'Iberville community," said Stephen Lebovitz, president of CBL & Associates Properties. "With over 365,000 square feet of anchor space already committed and firm interest for much of the remaining space, The Promenade has a very strong foundation going into the construction phase and we look forward to making anchor and specialty store announcements in the very near future."

The D'Iberville area is growing at a rapid pace and housing is in big demand. Savvy investors are looking to take advantage of the 50% bonus depreciation tax strategy known as the "GO Zone".
