Temperatures aren't the only things getting hot out here. Summertime fun heats up this time of year as well. Come enjoy some family fun with Ventura movies under the stars and a music festival for all ages in July.
Ventura Movies Under the Stars
Ventura Harbor Village hosts a movie night under the stars one Saturday a month during the summer. This month's selection? "Barbie". The movie begins at sunset (around 8 pm). However, organizers strongly suggest showing up early. But no one just hangs around waiting for the movie to start. DJ Pepper starts the night off right with some hoppin' tunes at 6:15 pm. Then, the Barbie & Ken costume contest takes place. (Expect to see a sea of pink throughout the event space.) Visit one of the great eateries located at the Village for a delicious dinner to go. After that, grab some popcorn before the show starts courtesy of We Bee Poppin's truck. They even created a pink option specifically for Barbie moviegoers.
Here are a few more reasons to arrive early. You get to scout out the best spots to watch the show. Just make sure you bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs for comfortable viewing. Plus, the extra time allows you to find a primo parking spot.
Ventura Music Festival 2024
The Ventura College Performing Arts Center plays host to the Ventura Music Festival. This festival takes place over two weekends: July 26th to 28th and August 2nd to 4th. Organizers of the Ventura Music Festival hope to encourage a love of music and fine arts in young people. They offer live performances of music, dancing, and more throughout both weekends.
