Just past Bastrop State Park, a sister park called Buescher State Park is located in Smithville Texas. This charming location offers camping, biking, and hiking. There is also ample space to go fishing and canoeing on its 30-acre lake. There are 6 miles of hiking trails and 12 miles of biking trails.

If you want to sleep over, there are camping sites and cabins. You will have to rough it, as there are only community bathrooms. There is a pavilion that houses groups of people for special events. There is also a park store available for some supplies and memorabilia.

If you wish to know about this park's history, there are tours that you can take to learn more from the park rangers. There are even junior ranger programs for the kids. There are many opportunities for guests to enjoy nature's beauty since the park is open from 6 am to 10 pm.

Being near multiple larger cities such as Bastrop and Austin, gives the visitors alternatives to choose from if they are in need of groceries, gas or first aid items. Bastrop offers larger box stores and restaurants and Austin offers a metropolis of amenities to choose from.

There are many reasons to visit Bastrop county, but for the fitness or health guru, this is a favorite location to enjoy. Book your camping site or your cabin and get ready to enjoy a favorite spot even to locals.

Hello Deb - the photos and description you share of Buescher State Park in Smithville Texas prompt the word idyllic to enter my mind.  And that seems like the ideal way for a getaway.  Of course, a visit in person would likely be more relaxing.  Happy Wednesday.
