Endre, How about mixing the new food with her old food, gradually increasing the amount of the new food over a week or two. Maybe this can help her get used to the new taste ~

Good morning Endre. We had a Yorkie who was a fussy eater. We changed food because  we feed him a sample and he would not eat anything else after that. Luckily it was a much better food. Do what you feel best because Holly is depending on you. Enjoy your day.

The last time I switched Hercules dog food, we just mixed the old food with the new food and introduced it over a week or so. Of course, I have to admit Hercules eats everything so it wasn't a struggle. Good luck!

Wow...harder on us than it is on them, right?? It's hard to go through it, but you know you're doing the right thing!

Good morning, Endre... Holly sounds more like a cat in this regard than a dog. My Mr. Marlow is on a special diet, but I got him on it by mixing some of the cat food he likes with it... so no issues.

Hummm tough love can be good but food should be enjoyed...it's all about the dining experience as you well know. I agree with Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Endre my kids ate what was put on the table or they did not eat, and if I had pets I would have treated them the same way.

I wish Holly well in her effort to recover.  When I had my Eskie dog, Kodi, who lived to be 16, I made his food in the last few years of his life.  It was a mixture of cooked hamburger and steamed rice.  He seemed to love it!
