We are entering a different Real Estate Market here in Indianapolis.
We are seeing more expired listings and more price reductions. The tide is turning. We will see how this plays out with the election coming up and inflation and rates where they are at. This is an unprecedented time we are all in, that is for sure. Many experts argue that this phase we are entering into will not be like the market crash around the 2007 time frame and so far, if you look at Sheriff Sales in the area, the information coincides with that. For every argument that things will go one way, there is an argument in the opposite direction.
As an Indianapolis home seller or homebuyer you will have to decide what is right and comfortable for your family. We do not know for sure rates will drop, it is doubtful they will ever get to the 2's that they once were for some folks. Have we reached the peak of real estate-price reductions are indicative of such a statement. Maybe from an affordability standpoint you have decided that extended family under one roof will make more sense budget wise?
If you are selling your home, you will want to price it more competitively than you did a few months ago or a few years ago-the market has absolutely shifted.
