This Week…An Olympic Week

The Opening Ceremony for the Olympics 2024 was yesterday. Center stage…the Seine River!

If you have been bored by previous Opening Day ceremonies, held in an arena, this one was far from it.

Watching the Torch Bearer jump across roofs and across scaffolding was an Olympic-worthy moment.

Politics and world events aside, if you have the opportunity to see any of the Opening Ceremony or events, you will not be disappointed.

Hi Kathy,
I didn't get to watch the opening ceremony, but I am sorry I missed Celine Deon's closing performance. I've heard it was amazing.

I Like Carol Williams missed the opening ceremony but hoping to find some clips especially of Celine Deon's closing performance. I definitely will be watching some of the events this week!

After watching the opening of the Olympics, I will not be watching another minute. After the disgusting display I saw (I will let you decide what I am talking about) NBC and the Olympics do not deserve my viewership.

Hi Kathy... sadly, what I saw of the ceremonies mostly bored me stiff. And when I saw that insane recreation of the Last Supper with men in drag... I moved on to another channel.

It was an interesting concept to float down the Seine for the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony and interesting to watch that person run across the rooftops. I was a little ticked at a couple of areas BUT it seems to be the state of the world thinking these days. USA men won GOLD Today

We saw some of the opening ceremony but missed some of the highlights including Celene Dion.

I plan to watch events when I can, especially swimming, diving and gymnastics which are my favorites.

Kathy Streib  we opted not to turn the TV on and when we heard the next morning about the disgraceful act against the Catholic glad, we did not.... now with that said why is it OK to pick on the Catholic Religion but not the other ones? Never mind...Endre

Hi Kathy,

I haven't watched an opening in some time and with everything going on and my friends that have been upset over some of the openings, it didn't seem like I missed much!  I, too, probably would've been upset.

That aside, I've heard the music was great!
