Paddy’s AI Window Challenge - Sunsets, of Course!

One of my favorite things in life is the end of the day, watching the sunset. Anticipating the artwork that we will see each night, is something that Ray and I began enjoying during the pandemic. Of course, we don’t always have a gorgeous, breathtaking sunset but, when we do, I never want it to end!

When we lived at the lake, we watched the kayakers and fishermen/women enjoying the sunset reflecting in front of or all around them, in the water. I always wondered if they realized the beauty their vessel added to those sunsets. The blue herons also contributed to those amazing sunsets we witnessed.

Back to the challenge! Paddy has given us so many ideas of how to use AI and as many have said, it’s truly putting those who are embracing AI, ahead of the game that is bearing down on us all. Like most, I’m more ‘impressed’ with the creative capabilities of AI and the gorgeous images we have been shown by Paddy during our ZOOM calls on Tuesdays.

For this challenge, I tried NightCafe first as I have used it once in the past and didn’t end up creating anything that I could use. I didn’t have the time to tweak my prompts that day but, I did ‘like’ a few creations and earned myself a few credits so that I could try at a later date.

Today, I returned and inserted this prompt:

"Middle-aged couple sitting on a couch, facing the lake in a sunroom with glass roof and large windows, overlooking a beautiful lake with kayakers paddling in the lake, with a gorgeous, colorful sunset reflecting in the water."

This is the image NightCafe created for me:

I’m not so sure where the ‘prompt’ mentioned that the lake runs THROUGH the sunroom with kayaks in the water IN the sunroom or what happened to the couple but, I surely do love the sunset!

I then inserted the same prompt into Chatgpt, adding before the prompt, “Please create an image of…” The reason being, the NightCafe option tells you to ONLY insert the description, not to include instructions.

Chatgpt provides text and images in the same prompt box. Therefore, we have to be sure to tell it to create an image or it will write an article about that couple watching the kayakers during the sunset!

Here is the image Chatgpt created for me:

Of course, you know I love the Tiffany colored sofa and having a room without kayaks floating in front of us. This image is exactly what I had in mind…and likely would have painted, should I be so talented!

Thank you for the challenge, Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD. I have so enjoyed learning more about creating and using AI images.

Well, I'm happy to have been of some assistance with the 'translation' of my experience using the two options. While I enjoy the free one (NightCafé), the $20 version of ChatGPT responded far more appropriately to my prompt, in my opinion. "See" you on Tuesday

Debe the Chatgpt photo was far more accurate, but Chatgpt is not free, correct?

I agree with you, George Souto - a far better option for my prompts. Text to imaging is $20/month which is the same price as an image site I paid for for a number of years. Every now and then I will run across a broken link photo from that site and it's just an ad for their services. You lose your permission to use their images once you let your 'membership' lapse.

My marketing manager suggested using the $20 Chatgpt option and I have found it to be so very accurate. And, I'll never use permission to utilize the images I create there.

Hi Debe
I love them both, but especially the ChatGPT one. I've been comparing various options and so far have found ChatGPT the most consistent with depictions from prompts. I'm working on my homework assignment.

Same, Carol Williams and the Chatgpt was certainly the easiest for me, both with regards of creating the images but, downloading them and saving them for later use. Looking forward to seeing your post!

Good afternoon Debe,

I definitely like the one created by ChatGPT the best..I think it followed your prompts perfectly! It's fun learning about how to create AI images from Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD . He is a wealth of information! Well done!

Thank you, Dorie Dillard Austin TX! And, yes, Paddy is amazing! I cannot believe how he has inspired so many of us who were so very doubtful about AI. He has certainly changed my opinion and given me great ideas for use of AI.

Hi Debe- what fun is this!!!!  I actually love both of them and I know Larry would love to have a living room with his kayak in it!!!  I'm such a klutz, I'd probably fall into the water.

I would have pets drowning in mine, Kathy Streib, if we had a body of water in the sunroom! LOL The couch is more my speed too - that way I don't have to worry about anything but, the view! LOL

Hello Debe and good job and thank you for sharing this with us.  I wish I was techie but not so much.

Hey, it's as simple as clicking on the links to the websites and writing a prompt for it to create an image. It's truly easy as pie, Will Hamm!!

Ironically, I was trying to do similar on NightCafe last night but could not get them to keep the mountains out.  You should have prompted for low tide.

I saw others that had significant mountain ranges in the images and that's just not where we live either, Ed Silva, 203-206-0754!

You must be teaching that AI to learn all about you Debe Maxwell, CRS I immediately saw you and Ray on that Tiffany colored couch blondie!  😎

LOVED that version too, Eileen Burns 954.483.3912! I didn't think you could do text to image without paying. Am I wrong? I think it will do text commands but, only for 'the written word.' Not 100% sure on that though!

Debe, I love these images...especially the first one. As I mentioned on the Zoom call today, AI always creates appealing images....you can always imagine being in a scene that AI created....similar to a Kinkade painting as I mentioned!!

It's so cool! I had no idea we could create our own images. It beats the heck out of paying for other people's images that we had nothing to do with creating. I love creating my own, Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD - it's so fun - and rewarding too!
