Real Estate Agents Live and Die By Referrals

By
Real Estate Agent with Fathom Realty 8431215

As the headline says, referrals are crucial to the long term and sustained success for any real estate agent.  The challenge?  Many agents are poor at asking for them.  I know that as a new agent, I was.

People typically refer people they trust or had a great business experience with.  So, with out further adieu,  please contact me if I may ever be of service to you, a friend or family in the Burlington-Mercer real estate market area.

Do you have a relationship with another agent who has impressed you?   Refer them!

Since 1984, I have been happily serving the Central and South Jersey real estate markets as a :

Salesperson

Manager

Broker / Owner

Recruiter

At this stage of my  career, I focus only on helping my buyer and seller clients.

I have sold many hundreds of homes, recruited many hundreds of agents, and trained them as well.  I love what I do, I am blessed.

Please contact me at (609) 864-8164 for reliable service with great results.

Home again, home again...

As a new agent, one of our best friends was the #1 Coldwell Banker agent in the entire midwest.  And her sphere of influence completely eclipsed ours.  Nobody in our sphere would have willingly chosen to entrust "newbie Alan" as opposed to "Rockstar 1st in the Midwest" with the largest transaction of their lives.  I don't think even my own mother would have chosen to use me.

So I had to build my entire new business on the kindness of strangers... relying solely on open houses, marketing and my sparkling personality.  Nary a referral.

Good point, Alan May , they do not come overnight, they must be earned over time.  I lived on FSBO's, open houses, floor time and then expireds.

My very first year I held open houses 51 weekends.  (I took my birthday weekend off).. it proved to be very productive.

Plenty of referrals now.

Michael, Most of our business comes from referrals, which is why we make it a point to treat our clients with the same care and respect we would want for ourselves.

Good morning Michael. Alan May provided the requirements of stage one of building a referral base. You have to build it before it performs for you and if you don't nurture it, it will never perform for you. Out of sight, out of mind. Enjoy your day.

Truer words have not been spoken... or should I say written, Michael? My business has been 85+% repeat and referral for more years than I can count. It's the lifeblood of my business.

Good morning Michael,

You are right referrals are the life line of an agent and it takes time to build the network of raving fans! It is done by getting out there, working hard and marketing yourself until you have earned respect. People will want to work with you!

I have made multiple six figure referrals from Activerain alone. I think it is also important to be someone that others feel comfortable referring business to. So many bad agents out there right now, I gravitate to good ones.

Without referrals, I don't think I would have had much business at all in real estate, haha.

Michael, boy isn't that the truth!  I started at Safeway and fellow employees gave me a chance, then floor time really helped, and I built a solid database that referred me and had so many repeat clients!
