Do real estate agents chat to much with
coworkers when in a office?

Whether real estate agents chat too much with coworkers in an office setting really depends on various factors like office culture, individual personalities, and work demands. Here are some observations:

  1. Office Culture: In some offices, a collaborative and social environment is encouraged, which might lead to more chatting. In others, a quieter, more focused atmosphere might be the norm.

  2. Nature of Work: Real estate work often requires networking and sharing information, so some degree of chatting can be beneficial for exchanging leads, advice, and market insights.

  3. Personal Work Style: Some agents might prefer a more social work environment, while others might prefer to focus on their tasks with minimal interruptions.

  4. Workload: During busy periods, agents might have less time to chat and will be more focused on their tasks. Conversely, during slower times, there might be more opportunity for conversation.

  5. Productivity Balance: While chatting can foster a positive and supportive work environment, excessive chatting can potentially hinder productivity. Finding a balance is key.

Ultimately, the right amount of chatting depends on how it impacts the overall productivity and morale of the team. If chatting is leading to distractions, it might be helpful to set some guidelines or create designated times for social interactions. Conversely, if the office is too quiet, encouraging more interaction might help build team cohesion and share valuable insights.

One of the biggest reasons I don't go into the office very much is because I'm constantly being pulled aside by newer agents asking for advice. And while I'm happy to help, at some point I just need to run in and out.

Sounds like a good reason to spend so time out the office

I happen to like to go into the office 5 days a week and I get there early so I can get a lot of work in before it gets noisy.

I was taught early on, avoid the office coffee drinkers. Having an office with positive, supportive folks is a massive value add. Negative folks? Avoid at all costs
