Motivating by fear is nothing new.
As the political season heats up you would swear the sky is falling no matter which politician you listen to. Food packet's are being sold because "the apocalypse is near" . Buy gold because the economy is collapsing. Buy a weapon because you need to return fire.
Where in the world are we safe?
I feel safe at home. At home I can tune out all the negativity of the world and all the hissing noises as well.

We have Nextdoor here as well Endre Barath, Jr. and you are right, in fact the reason I feel safe at home is because I have tons of exterior lighting, Ring doorbells, a big dog, and several weapons.
Minot used to be a very safe place until oil was discovered and it brought not just high paying jobs BUT also all the bottom feeders selling drugs, and prostitution.
