August 2024 update from Maui - 1 year after the fires

Wow, Georgie... I'm so happy things are moving in a positive direction for Maui... but no doubt it continues to be tough for so many residents. I was actually surprised that tourist business was down only 27%... I would have expected more. That is a blessing for sure.

Good morning Georgie. Nice to hear things are moving forward in a positive direction, but guessing more would be even better. As for a 27% reduction in tourism I am surprised it is not much higher. Enjoy your day.

Wow, it's hard to believe that a year has already passed since that happened.  I appreciate your update and will continue to pray for the people of Maui.

I found Maui to be one of the most Joyful places on earth. I am hopeful that you will have such joy moving forward.

A couple of positives to the aftermath: There are tourists still coming and spending and all can safely drink the water.

It is good to read that the recovery is moving along and people are trying to recover and rebuild. 

Good that tourists are coning and supporting the economy and that the water is again safe to drink.

Hello and sorry to hear that 27% less tourist are making it there.  It is on my list but my wife wants to go to Ireland first.
