Pickleball in Charlotte Is Hot

Pickleball in Charlotte is hot! These days it feels as if it's National Pickleball Day every day in Charlotte!

People are obsessed with joining in with the pickleball craze!  But while it seems that this interest in pickleball sprang up overnight, in fact, pickleball has been around since 1965. It was invented 59 years ago as a children's backyard game on Bainbridge Island in Washington State. In 2022, pickleball was named the official state sport of Washington. Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the United States for a third year in a row and some five million people are now playing pickleball. Naples, Florida is often considered the #1 "pickleball capital" in the USA, the Greater Charlotte region is doing its best to compete.

WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?

Pickleball can best be described as a mix between tennis, badminton, and ping pong, using a flat paddle and a plastic ball with holes. The court is the size of a badminton court, measuring 20 by 44 feet. It can be played both as a singles and a doubles game. It can be played both indoors and outdoors.  The fact that it's a low impact sport is what's made it so popular among players of all ages.

Seems funny Nina.  Pickle Ball started off as a good senior type relaxing past time.  I believe it has crept into # 1 source for medical calls.  LOL  all good things....

Hello Nina - hmm - I am wondering about the saying, a day late and a dollar short.  Oh well, I am also imagining pickleball enthusiasts enjoy the sport whenever they can.   And, look, here's a new day and more days to celebrate.  Happy Friday.  Or is it weekend-eve????🤣

Michael Jacobs good morning, Michael... I suspect the pickleball enthusiasts are enthusiastic every day. With weekends often not meaning much to real estate agents, I stick with Happy Friday! And a Happy Friday to you!

Nina Pickleball does look like Tennis and Table Tennis in one. I remember years ago my oldest and younger brother played a game against each other. I wonder if they still play. I tried Golf last month at Top Golf for the first time. So who knows I might like Pickleball.

Thanks for sharing.

Lanre-"THE REAL ESTATE FARMER" Folayan good morning, Lanre. I am totally gob-smacked by how quickly pickleball became "a thing" all over the country and not just in Charlotte.
