Creative Minds Have Changed The World

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

This post was composed because of a recent comment I received from someone who has always been kind to me. That person, Nina Hollander, Broker referenced my creativity, and ended her comment with "Need I say more?"

I decided to start this blog post today beginning with my first three responses and added more. I hope it is something to think about seriously. Here it goes:

Need I say more?

Creative minds found a way to stop big, fat yellow and white pages to look up numbers to instantly get those contacts digitally.

Creative minds cut the chords on home telephones to make urgent calls more accessible on the road or anywhere to save lives in emergency situations.

Creative minds built laundry rooms into homes instead of having people go to the laundromat. My mother used a scrub board in the bathtub before getting a wringer washing machine that she had to drag across the kitchen floor and move chairs and tables. Then my sisters and I had to carry the baskets of wet clothes down to the backyard to hang on the clothes line outside or down in the basement to hang on ropes my dad put up and there it took many days to dry.

Creative minds improved the costs to make it more affordable for most anyone to have a computer, laptop, cellphone, or any other type of electronical device.

Creative minds improved building technology to prevent fires and ways to escape without being trapped. In 1976, my husband and I were inside a hotel and it caught fire while we were sleeping. He had military training and was alert to suspicious sounds. I never heard of a smoke alarm, but somehow, he knew we were in danger, and sure enough, the hotel was already on fire. I was pregnant. Because he carried a gun, he shot out the windows that were not made to open, and we were both rescued from an above ground floor due to the attention he caused by firing the gun and glass shattering.

Creative minds using augmented reality for architects and other professions that can rely on new technology are now possible to speed up the project and lesson mistakes or potential disasters. If that was possible decades ago, I doubt the Space Shuttle Challenger of 1968 or the Space Shuttle Columbia would have blown up. I was in a real estate class in Dallas on February 1, 2003 when the Space Shuttle Columbia reentered the atmosphere and news reporters announced a disaster was imminent over the area where I was testing in class. I was sitting next to the glass windows worried sick about the danger outside. And sure enough all 7 astronauts were killed.

Creative mind figured out a way for kids not to have to lug around schoolbags or backpacks with heavy books and school supplies. Now many classrooms are equipped with newer technology and methods most parents or guardians never had and many adults can't even help their children with homework. Are you as smart as a 5th grader?

Creative minds designed A.I. to create images that eliminates the need to buy stock photos for writing blog posts and other marketing materials for business. This cuts out the middleman, a cost savings, plus stimulates minds intellectually. Everything I do, pertaining to business has to be compliant. Personally, I don't use A.I. for writing. Instead I meticulously research my material, and I am an on-going student, always taking real estate classes and other cutting edge educational classes to broaden my thinking skills in areas of education relatable to my clients.

Creative minds have changed the world. I'm learning if you stop learning, people know it, regardless of how much education or life experiences you have or they have. Creative minds have changed the world. I am changing and that makes me stand out from the crowd.

Patricia we would not have many of the things we have today, if it were not for those creative minds that can thing beyond today and see into tomorrow.

George Souto - Precisely! It is because of the creative minds and new innovation with technology that we are so lucky! And I am so grateful for those who lead us to become educated in A.I. like Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD  and John Henry, Florida Architect. My parents and grandparents never had as much as I had or so easy.

My parents did not have a dishwasher. I have never lived on my own without one.

My parents never had a washer and dryer inside our home, but I do!

My parents had one space heater in the dining room to heat the living room, dining room, kitchen, three bedrooms, and bathroom. And my mother lived in that same house in Chicago, where I was raised by my parents all the years of her life, until she died in 2006. She had no modern conveniences, like I had or have now. Here in TX, I never lived without Central Heat and Air.

My mother never drove a car or owned one. We were a 1 car family. After my dad died, his car did not leave the garage. But since I was widowed, I bought and owned six new cars, and cars & trucks too numerous to count when I was married.

I never stop counting my blessings.

Lew Corcoran - Computers have been useful tools for decades now and something new is always on the horizon! You and I would not still be in the real estate business if we didn't keep up with new technology. A.I. for images is just one more tool that I find exciting! Also, I love your creations and your blog posts too! A.I. for creating images has amazing capabilities and we decide what we want to go along with our writing material. Isn't that great???

If we look around our house, and stop and think about how lucky we are that some creative mind made life easier for us, we would be more grateful for what we have. And if we spend an evening watching some old movies from the 1940's we will see things we probably grew up with when we were little that won't be found today, like a telephone booth.

As for me, you have no idea how thankful I am to have an underground automatic sprinkler system programmed to come on, during certain hours of the night, when I am sleeping, so that I don't have to use a hose to water my trees, plants, and grass.

There really are a lot of creative mind in this world and so many have changed our lives for the better.

Good afternoon Patricia,

You are so right creative minds have changed our world! You can't stop learning and rest on your laurals and think wand curious minds constantly developing something!!

Dorie Dillard Austin TX - Correct! "You can't stop learning and rest on your laurals," expecting somebody else to develop and create while you do nothing at all. What good is that? What are the rewards?

Creative minds must be enthusiastic and never stop trying to learn!!!

That's incredible!!!

Thank you, Lynn for your guidance and challenges. You were my guiding light then and now.

Hello Patricia - once again, your creative approach speaks volumes.  Each of us sees/hears a lot around us.   A combination of those senses (and some more) combines to create a lasting impression.

Michael Jacobs - Everything we do, say, or implement into our life should "create a lasting impression." Whether that's good or bad, an impression is long lasting. Look to the good! That's what I always believed. Creativity is the source of change. The skills we acquire should be about being good, promoting good, and doing good for others,

Many creative minds changed our lives for the better, and for that, I remain grateful.

Oh my, Patricia... what a creative post! Loved it! And it never occurred to me that it wasn't written by you. AI can't hold a candle to your writing skills!

Nina Hollander, Broker - thank you! That is one of the highest paid compliments I received in 2024.

You have been a supporter of mine for many, many years. Although we never met, I consider you a true professional, a true virtual friend, and a woman with wise words. A travel guide doesn't "hold a candle" to your life experiences living in many different parts of the world and the United States. Settling into Charlotte, NC is your home. Two of the most thoughtful and kindest people I know on ActiveRain from Charlotte are you and Debe Maxwell, CRS

Patricia, so much creativity out there, the advances in technology amaze me.  20 years ago I was carrying a pager and had to look for a pay phone to return calls.  Now?  I can be halfway around the world and take calls.  I can sit at my computer with two screens to do my engineering work and stream a TV show on my phone at the same time.  Concerned about traffic?  There's an app for that on my phone.  And all that is just scratching the surface.  Who knows where we'll be in 10 years?  20?

Bill - thank you for sharing the story of your life and it's all because of "advances in technology.'" Our vision in life only comes to fruition because of creative minds that made dreams possible, our lives easier, or different.

Your wonderful comment can be a segue into one of your wonderful weekly posts! You sure did tell us a lot about yourself! It's quite an amazing story!

Thank you for sharing!

Technology is a key part on how I'm able to juggle the engineer/real estate agent/zookeeper lifestyle :)  Save time where I can, run a ball game on my phone while I'm doing the evening Chihuahua/kitty feeding, etc. so I can squeeze in some fun stuff.

Liz and Bill Spear - reading what technology has done for you, and thinking about what it did for me, makes me think, could technology hold the key to why people have a better chance of living longer, healthier lives?

I was doing some geneology these past few days and the ages of my  relatives that past away appear so much younger to me now than at the time they passed away. And I thought to myself, I remember what they did, and how they did what they needed to do, to make a living.

My father's side, all the males had heart attacks in their 30s.  Type A profiles, southern food, smokers, probably not a good recipe.  I was a little nervous as I approached my 30s, but fortunately that trend didn't continue with me (I deal with afib intermittently, but that's it).  My mom's side of the family both seem to have long life genetics.  Both my parents are now in their lower 80s.  They have health issues, but doing well all things considered.
