“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.” -Henry Ford
As many of you know Paddy Deighan MBA JD PhD has been very generous with his time in doing several Zoom presentations on the subject of AI. Those sessions have certainly piqued my curiosity, and I've been enjoying experimenting with it in various ways.
Since my AI radar is up, I saw a Free 5-day AI Challenge offered on Facebook, so I signed up. If you've ever taken a FREE seminar, there is usually quite a bit of time spent on an upsell. These presenters did not do that. Yes, there is an upsell, but it's not pushed. This is literally the best FREE seminar I have ever taken, with huge value. When they offer it again, I will sign up again.
Anyway, on the first day, I found out our homework (which they call funwork) assignment was to create a song on any subject we desired. My initial reaction was disappointment because I have ZERO musical talent. But I thought, "What the heck, I like music. I'll try it anyway."
I decided to do a song about golf. Shocking, right? OMG. It was so easy and fun, and I'm thrilled with the result! Those of you who are my Facebook friends may have seen this on my FB page but I want to share it with those of you who aren't my FB friends.
Here is the result:
Swinging With My Friends
To create the song, I went into ChatGPT and told it what I wanted it to be about and some basic information to be included. Once I clicked "send" it quickly generated the lyrics for the song. Then I copy and pasted the lyrics into Suno.com and told it what kind of music I wanted. It immediately created the song. If I didn't like how it sounded, I could've just kept experimenting. Surprisingly, the song I linked to above was my very FIRST attempt, and I love it.
Songwriting has become my new addiction.
Since that first song, I've created a few more, including one for my brother and sister-in-law's blueberry farm. When I played it for their farm manager, he said, "I want to put that on our website." I said, "That's exactly what I hoped you would say."
In the meantime, though, I'm currently on a whirlwind road trip to meet up with a bunch of AR peeps. Who knows, I might even write a song about it.
Stay tuned...
