Sunday evening is a welcome sight this weekend as that means the chores are over for the weekend.
Friday afternoon I went and picked sweet corn out at the produce farm that has a u-pick setup for $3/dozen.
Then I went about 28 mile further down the road and inspected a basement for an out of state investor and gave him my thoughts on repairs to be made before we list this flip home in October.
(I will save most of my comments and all photos for another blog...but I STRONGLY encourage all Flip buyers to inspect the basement and the entire property....in person. Ouch!) note: might be later than October to list-ask me why!!
Anyway...I Picked up 10 dozen ear plus a few and then after Robyn got home from her regular job we blanched and cut off the cob and froze the corn for special meals this winter and next spring! We have been doing this for decades and love the sweet taste of the corn at the special meals! And so does everyone else at the meal!
We went to mass on Saturday evening and I slept in a bit today and then I made Robyn (and myself) some bacon/eggs/french toast and coffee!
Because of the cool weather and pastures and ponds doing well...my son-in-law Kody was able to not have to feed/water the cattle today so he was able to take most of a rare day off.
Our daughter Jaime came into town and her and Robyn went to do some shopping and I loaded up my trailer and her dog...Rook... and we headed out to her place which is about 20 miles from ours.
Kody wanted to clean out a shed and needed my trailer so what the heck...threw some old clothes on and went to help him.
We got the junk...some of it inherited when Jaime bought her repo home...and other crap loaded on to the trailer and he will get it to the landfill later this week.
We did a couple small repairs on the house as they get ready for new siding in a few weeks.
Robyn and Jaime showed up and we chatted for about an hour and headed back to town.
We were watching the Olympic closing and the question came up should we mow? After hmm-hawing a bit I was like yes... why don't we get the yard mowed today???
SO out we went and mowed this monster yard...2 Toros and a weedeater!
Took about hour and a half or so and done for another week!
But man, was I tired...just not too tired to make Crappie (fish), sweet corn on the cob, and mashed pototoes for supper!
Finished up the evening watching some Nascar racing and relaxing. Tomorrow it is back to work and hopefully a great week of nice weather!
Until next Time...Get those chores done. They ain't gonna do themselves!! (Hmmm, I wonder where I heard that back in the day?) Mike
