Patricia Feager, ABR,CRS,GRI,MRP wrote last week about a course she had taken where the lecturer introduced them to the 53 word story. In the comments I mentioned I would have to attempt that, thinking to my self that it did not sound that hard. Well I think the last laugh is with Patricia. It reminded me of when Twitter first launched and you were limited to the number of characters.
The 53 words do not include the title.
Buying a home!
Buying a home is an emotional experience. It requires stamina, grit and determination.
I not only represent you I educate you to make better decisions. You have to decide not only price but all the other terms of your offer and craft it well enough to satisfy the seller so they accept it.
I am not sure if I understood the challenge correctly, but it did require a lot of editing to keep it to 53 words. I tend to write from a stream of consciousness, and that can get pretty wordy in my case. But, I think editing it, which I generally do not do, made me tighten up what I was writing, removing words I felt were superfluous and not required to convey the meaning.
I actually felt happy about the result and would use that in conversation with a buyer.
What do you think? Will you give the 53 word story a try? maybe next time I will actually try a story.
