Back in the day when I took vacations in the corporate world, I liked to go to different places to relax. Now... can't remember when I last took a vacation. And having once had two homes to manage, one in Paris and one in London, I realized I never again wanted the hassle of have two homes at the same time.

Having owned a vacation home in the past when living in Boston I certainly understand the pleasures of having one as well as the issues with dual ownership. Despite having a beach-front property we still took other trips on our vacations. And what was very special was sharing our home with family and friends for years. It was hard to sell when we decided to leave Boston for California.

I have a vacation home. It is called a timeshare. It is on the island of Maui. I own a deed for my vacation home.

I pay for maintenance, but I would pay more if I owned a typical vacation home.

I will soon be visiting my vacation home. A corner unit next to the ocean on Kaanapali Beach.

I have a couple of timeshares as well John Juarez and I have found it's an affordable way to travel. I didn't like them at first, but then I learned how to use them and I am glad that I have them!
